On Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m., the Utah Utes—featuring former Desert Oasis High School standout Jet Gilliam—were defeated 13-9 by the Kansas Jayhawks in their NCAA Division I baseball clash.

Hoglund Ballpark was the site of Saturday’s matchup, marking their third meeting with the Jayhawks this season. Each team has won against the other so far in the series.

Gilliam posted two hits in four appearances at the plate, scoring once, driving in a run, drawing a walk, striking out once, and leaving two runners stranded.

The Utes are set to continue their season on Tuesday, April 7, at Bruce Hurst Field, facing the Utah Tech Trailblazers.
