Jet Gilliam, a standout from Desert Oasis High School, and his current college squad, the Utah Utes, were defeated 14-9 by the Kansas Jayhawks in their NCAA Division I baseball contest held Friday, April 3, at 6 p.m.

The matchup took place at Hoglund Ballpark and marked the second meeting this season between the two teams. Utah had previously fallen 14-12 to Kansas on Thursday, April 2.

Gilliam posted two hits in four at-bats, scored once and tallied two RBIs during the contest.

The Utes are set to face the Jayhawks again at Hoglund Ballpark on Saturday, April 4.
