The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) men’s golf team will begin its spring break by participating in the Michael A. Marino Classic from March 15 to March 17 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, according to a March 14 announcement. The event is hosted by Coastal Carolina at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, which features a par-72 course stretching 7,370 yards.
The tournament will feature a field of 16 teams, including Baylor, College of Charleston, Florida Gulf Coast, Furman, Kansas State, Kent State, Liberty, Little Rock, Louisiana, Louisville, Michigan, Missouri, NC State and North Florida alongside the host Chanticleers and UNLV.
Representing UNLV will be junior Zach Little, senior Trevor Lewis, junior Ryan Abuan, senior Brett Sawaia and junior Mason Snyder. Freshman Aaron van Hauwe is set to participate as an individual competitor. The format for the event consists of three rounds over three days with one round played each day. UNLV is scheduled to tee off Monday morning at 6:33 a.m. Pacific Time (9:33 a.m. Eastern Time).

In recent competitions this spring season, UNLV has achieved two top-three finishes out of three tournaments. Additionally, Zach Little has recorded top-15 placements in three consecutive events: tying for 15th at the Southwestern Invitational and John A. Burns Intercollegiate and finishing 11th at the Southern Highlands Collegiate.
The team’s performance so far this season suggests they are entering the Michael A. Marino Classic with momentum.
