Roxann McCoy, CEO & President of Aspire Consulting Group and President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the NAACP
Roxann McCoy is currently CEO and President of Aspire Consulting Group, a Las Vegas boutique consulting firm which specializes in providing business strategies to large corporations and small business to increase efficiency through streamline processes and increase revenue. She incorporates her skills in business development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training, Cultural Competency training, community relations, public relations, and human resource training through strong partnerships that will allow her to maximize successful measurable outcomes. She consults regularly with local business owners and political representatives helping to shape their brand awareness and providing services on strategic planning and Diversity Equity training. Roxann has an extensive background in DEI.
Roxann is currently President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) where she has served in that capacity for over 8 years. During her leadership she has exceeded her measurable goals by engaging community relations and increasing membership by 60%. As President of the NAACP she has implemented numerous programs that benefit the communities in Las Vegas. She has worked tirelessly to change policy and procedures within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department that negatively impacted disenfranchised communities of color. She has also assisted hundreds of individuals whose Civil Rights were violated in Education, Health and LGBTQ. Roxann works to bring awareness to business regarding BIPOC communities as well as collaborations between them. Roxann is a Social Justice Warrior.
Also, Roxann’s passion to serve extends to the many boards she continues to serve on and donate her time.
Roxann McCoy has a passion to see diverse people succeed in the world. This passion has resonated through in the communities in which she serves by receiving nominations and numerous prestigious awards. She has proven her dedication with selfless involvement and endless energy. She is a masterful entrepreneur and community leader that believes that through commitment and innovative ideas success can be accomplished and positively impact lives.
Roxann McCoy is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. She currently resides in Las Vegas which has been her home for over thirty-three years. She has a passion to see the community in which she resides have the resources and tools needed to be successful in their daily lives
Dr. Kate Zhong, Adjunct Professor at UNLV and CEO of CNS Innovations LLC - an adjunct professor in UNLV’s Department of Brian Health — is a geriatric psychiatrist, pharmacologist, and brain health advocate. Zhong is the founder of Brainnovation Initiative and chief executive officer of CNS Innovations LLC, a company that provides consultation services to advance prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
Before joining UNLV’s faculty, Zhong served as the chief strategy officer for Global Alzheimer’s Platform, a foundation devoted to improving and accelerating clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease. From 2010-2016, she was the senior director of clinical research for the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, where she led the development of programs treating patients with neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease. She is a founding member of AARP Global Council on Brain Health and serves on multiple boards in Nevada and beyond.
Zhong is a worldwide respected expert on brain health, having served as a scientific consultant for multiple pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the United States, Canada, and Asia. She was named a “Woman to Watch” and ”Alzheimer’s Ambassador” by Vegas Inc. Magazine, as well as honored with the “Healthcare Headliner Research Award” for her creation of Cleveland Clinic's healthybrains.org and the Health Brain Index. Zhong was featured in the PBS documentary “MAKERS: Women Who Make America,” profiling her as one of Nevada’s most influential women.
Linda Perez, CEO, The Shade Tree - Linda Perez is the Chief Executive Officer of The Shade Tree, the only 24-hour facility of its kind in Nevada that exists to serve women, children and pets in crisis from homelessness and domestic abuse and violence. She is also a Survivor and is passionate about empowering women.
In her role at The Shade Tree, Perez is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the 38,000 square foot shelter and organization, including development and fundraising, finances, programming, marketing, public relations and community relations, and management of facility operations.
Perez brings to the job more than two decades of leadership experience in the profit and non-profit sector, most recently served as the Executive Director of St. Jude House in Crown Point, Ind., a 24-hour shelter providing services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, along with their dependent children. She also served as Director of Guest Services for Family Christian Center in Munster, Ind. Perez also had a 13-year career with Caesar's Entertainment, where she served in both Marketing and Human Resources roles.
Perez has often been recognized for the difference she's made in her nonprofit communities and for lending a voice to the women and children affected by domestic violence. In 2016, she was awarded Leaders as Heroes Award for non-profits by the South Shore Leadership Center. In 2018, she was named a finalist for the Up and Coming Most Influential Women in Nonprofits by Northwest Indiana's Influential Women Association. Per earned her Master of Business Administration at Purdue University, Hammon, Ind. In 2020, shortly after arriving in Las Vegas, Perez was awarded the Las Vegas Humanitarian and Community Service award by the All-Women Rock Conference. In 2021, she was named Executive of the Year in the nonprofit category of the 31st Silver State Awards - Women Awards. She is also a graduate of Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2021.
Perez is also the co-author of The Successful Woman's Mindset - 21 Journeys to Success. Her experience as a victim of domestic violence, in addition to her leadership ability, brings tremendous value in supporting those that are transforming their lives. She believes in Servent Leadership and her goal is to empower ALL to live their best lives.
